Prioritizing candidates' data security: Emi obtains SOC 2 Type II certification
EMI Labs, Inc. (Emi) is proud to announce that, once again, it has successfully passed the System and Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type II exam in recognition of its commitment to information security.
We'll tell you why SOC 2 is essential for recruitment technology software like Emi.
Security in hiring automation
Candidates, and the organizations they apply to, trust their software vendors to protect their information, but it's all too easy for something to go wrong, even when some security measures are in place. The “basics”, such as two-factor authentication and access controls, aren't enough to stop a potentially catastrophic data breach. Therefore, it is essential for talent teams to know that the recruitment technology they use is taking the additional steps necessary to ensure the highest level of Security.
For us, data security isn't just a feature of our operational job recruitment automation platform: it's the foundation of everything. Without trust in our ability to protect your information, leading companies like Walmart, Burger King And Heineken they would not have been able to partner with Emi to accelerate their mass recruitment efforts.
Why SOC 2 Type II is so important
Developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), SOC 2 (System and Organization Controls) defines criteria for managing customer data based on five “trust service principles”: security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy.
A SOC 2 audit is a report about an organization's internal controls and how it protects customer data and confidential information. It's the data security standard among digital companies. Emi also completed the additional “availability” criterion, which assesses whether information and services are available for operation and use in order to meet the organization's objectives. This includes considerations about system uptime and service continuity.
To obtain this certification, Emi partnered with an independent auditor, Insight Assurance, which carried out a detailed evaluation. Through this process, Emi has demonstrated its compliance with the security and data availability standards developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), being evaluated in the following:
- Evaluation of the design and operational effectiveness of Emi Labs Inc. controls
- Comprehensive vendor and third-party security assessment
- Defined policies to ensure the ongoing protection of customers and employees
- Defined controls to improve service availability in the event of a disaster or crisis
With the SOC 2 recognition, we not only protect the security of our customers' data today, but we also believe that it demonstrates our commitment to setting security standards for the future.
Our achievement with the SOC 2 Type II exam supports our commitment to providing an excellent candidate experience without compromising data security. Rest assured that your information is in excellent hands with Emi.
